Key 2018 Changes & Highlights:

• Check out our 2018 faculty at right. Also, we're happy to report that Rob Anderlik will be on hand to lead some structured jam sessions, and to host a participants' open mic during Saturday's "optional activities hour."

• This year's Station Inn performances: Rob Ickes and Trey Hensey (Thursday), bluegrass supergroup The Highland Travelers (Friday) (read about them here), and Debashish Battacharya (Saturday).

• The registration fee has increased to $500, based on increases in our Scarritt Bennett contract. Scarritt Bennett has also increased room and meals charges. On-site room charges for 2018 are $245 for 3 nights, $325 for 4 nights; and optional on-site meals (ordered in October) are: $11.25-breakfast; $13.75-lunch; $18.75-dinner.

• We realize these price increases may make it more difficult for young players to attend. In addition to our Houston Caldwell Scholarship, we will work hard, as we have in past years, to provide some underwriting for as many young people as possible. If you are in a position to help, we will have a PayPal button on the payment page for this purpose. And each year, another source of funds for this purpose are deposits that participants who cancel choose to donate to our scholarship fund, in lieu of receiving a refund.

• To the extent possible, we will be revising the schedule to give slightly longer breaks between workshops and for lunch. The number of workshops is unchanged, with 10 workshop sessions in total.

How to Register:

We opened registration at 6pm on Thursday, Feb. 22, by a "First Call" email sent exclusively to those on the ResoSummit email list, and sold out in approx. 44 minutes. Dobro players type fast! If you are interested in attending, don't despair: sign up for our wait list. Every year, we are able to make offers to our wait list, and wait-listers are eligible in future years for a "heads up" email that lets you know in advance when registration will open.

Registration Confirmation and Payment of Deposit:

Registration priority is primarily based on the date/time of your registration survey. We adjust priority in order to accommodate international participants (because of the more complex logistics in attending ResoSummit from abroad), and to balance group size within specific skill levels.

It takes us up to 24 hours to send confirmations or wait-list notices to everyone who completes the registration survey on the first day of registration. If you submitted a registration survey before 4:15 CST on Feb. 23, you should have received an email from us either confirming your registration or letting you know you are on our wait-list. We'll send notices to those who submitted a survey after that as soon as possible.

The deposit due upon registration confirmation is $150 for registration, plus $100 if you want to reserve an on-site room. In order to finalize your registration and have a confirmed space at ResoSummit, pay your deposit promptly once you have received our email confirming your registration.

A 3% service charge will apply to payments made by credit card (waived for international participants).

The link to the payment page will be in your confirmation email.Do not send in a deposit until you have received our confirmation email.

Registration Fee: $500

The 2018 registration fee is $500. This is a $25 increase from 2017, due to higher prices in our Scarritt Bennett contract.

The registration fee includes all 10 workshop sessions, the two "optional activities hour" sessions, nightly after-hours jamming, three Station Inn performances, and the closing faculty performance. It does not include optional on-site housing or meals. On-site meals will be available by pre-order –we will send confirmed participants a meal-order survey in October. At that time, you will be able to order meals (for yourself and any friends/family) and reserve "Friends and Family" Station Inn tickets for any family or friends who may be joining you in Nashville.

Payment Schedule:
See above for deposit details. The balance of your registration and on-site room fees is due on or before August 7, 2018. We will send you a payment reminder in advance of that due date. We take meal orders and reservations for "Friends and Family" tickets for Station Inn performances in October; you pay for those at registration.

On-site housing + off-site options:

On-site rooms are small former dormitory rooms and generally share a bathroom with one adjacent room; they differ in key ways from hotel rooms. Details about on-site rooms are here.

2018 on-site room rates: $245 for 3 nights, $325 for 4 nights. You can generally add an extra night before or after ResoSummit; contact Betty by early October to arrange for extra nights.

CANCELLATION + REFUND POLICY FOR 2018

Please review this cancellation & refund policy CAREFULLY before paying your deposit or fees.

ON OR BEFORE AUG. 7, registration fees and on-site lodging deposits are fully refundable minus a $50 cancellation fee.

FROM AUG. 7 THROUGH OCT. 6, registration fees are 50% refundable. On-site lodging fees are refundable if we are able to reassign your room to another participant. Otherwise, lodging fees are nonrefundable.

AFTER OCT. 6, registration fees and on-site lodging and meals payments are non-refundable.

Although we reserve the right to follow the terms of this cancellation & refund policy strictly, if we are able to fill the vacancy from our wait list or reassign your room and meals to another participant, we may, in our sole discretion, elect to refund a greater portion of your deposit.

Please note that many people on our wait list need several months' advance notice in order to be able to arrange to attend. If you need to cancel, the sooner you do so, the more likely it is that we can fill your space from the wait list, and give you the largest possible refund.

Schedule overview

ResoSummit begins on Thursday, Nov. 8. Registration opens at 3pm in the lobby of Scarritt-Bennett's Laskey Building, and on-site room check-in opens then also. There is an optional "get acquainted" dinner at 5:30pm in the Susie Gray Dining Hall at the Scarritt-Bennett Center, our ResoSummit "home", and the first official event of ResoSummit will be an 8pm performance at the Station Inn. Informal jamming space is available after-hours, as deep into the night as you wish to use it.

Friday, Nov. 9 features an all-Summit opening session, where you'll meet the faculty and hear them play in duos or trios. Three workshop sessions follow, plus an "optional activities" hour with options ranging from informal performances and demos to one-on-one opportunities to consult with faculty and our staff luthiers during "office hours". After a dinner break we'll be back at the Station Inn for a performance, followed by informal after-hours jamming. Rob Anderlik will facilitate a jam group for those who are new to jamming, or wish to participate in a more structured jam.

Saturday, Nov. 10 has a similar schedule, with four workshop sessions, an optional activities hour, and an 8pm performance at The Station Inn.

Sunday, Nov. 11 features three workshop sessions. ResoSummit then closes with a faculty performance, which will end by 5pm. Some participants leave on Sunday afternoon or evening; others stay overnight and leave on Monday, so we provide after-hours jamming space for Sunday night.
