First Call for ResoSummit 2008

On this page, you'll find information on:

  • the registration cap & wait list for ResoSummit 2008;
  • info on how to pay your registration and on-site housing fees
  • detailed description and comments from 2007 participants about on-site housing

Registration Cap & Wait List

We have reached our registration cap for ResoSummit 2008, and have also closed the Wait List.

If you submitted a registration survey on or before Saturday, Jan. 26, you should have received an email response, either confirming your registration or notifying you of your waiting list status; let us know if you haven't received that response.

If you submitted a survey on or after Sunday, Jan. 27, we have placed you on the waiting list in the order that we received your survey, and have sent you an email with waiting list information.   Since ResoSummit is still several months away, we do expect spaces to open, and we will notify the waiting list promptly when cancellations occur.

How to Pay Your Registration & On-Site Housing Fees

Payment of fees for registration and on-site housing is due by August 10. The registration fee is $400; on-site housing, including taxes and fees, is $55/night for a standard room, and $75/night for an upgraded room.

Most registrants paid a $100 registration deposit in January, and a $110 deposit for a standard room, or a $150 deposit for an upgraded room.

To pay the balance due, please make your check payable to ResoRevolution and mail it to:

Rob Ickes / ResoSummit
P.O. Box 682551
Franklin, TN 37064

If you have any questions about the amount you owe, or what on-site housing is reserved for you, send an email or give us a call (contact info at left).

Meals, Friends & Family Tickets, T-shirts

We'll be sending registrants a survey in September to take your reservations for any of these optional items: on-site meals, tickets for your friends and family who wish to attend the evening performances, and t-shirts.

On-Site Housing Info

On-site housing is optional.  A standard room (one twin bed, shared bath, no TV or Internet access) is $55/night (all taxes/fees included), and an upgraded room (one twin bed, shared bath, TV and high-speed Internet access by cable) is $75/night (all taxes/fees included).   You can reserve a room for three nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) or four nights (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) by indicating your housing choice in the survey, and paying a deposit of $110 for a standard room, or $150 for an upgraded room.  (The deposit is the same whether you are reserving 3 or 4 nights; our 2007 experience made us big fans of simplified arithmetic!)  The balance of the lodging charge is due by Aug. 10, payable only by check after initial registration.

If you did not reserve on-site housing when you registered, but wish to add it at this point, contact us. We were able to obtain some additional rooms (singles only; all doubles are reserved) from Scarritt-Bennett, and have a limited supply of extra rooms.

Scarritt-Bennett rooms are remodeled dorm rooms, with a shared bath.  Each bathroom is located between two rooms, so it is accessible from your room, not the hallway.  Both types of rooms (standard and upgraded) are small but recently remodeled and nicely (if spartanly) furnished, with one twin bed.  Linens are provided, but there is no daily maid service; fresh towels/linens are available upon request from the Front Desk in Laskey Hall.  Upgraded rooms have TV and high-speed internet access (by cable), and are located in a building where jamming is not permitted, because non-ResoSummit guests will also be staying in this building.  In 2008, standard rooms will be assigned to a building used exclusively by ResoSummit, so jamming will be permitted; there are lounges on each floor available for this purpose.  (For all participants, whether staying on- or off-site, ResoSummit will provide after-hours jamming space in our workshop spaces on the 2nd floor of Fondren Hall.)  Also, wireless internet access is available to ResoSummit participants in the Laskey Hall lobby/lounge area, as are several computers (though there might be a wait to use these during peak times).  All the residence buildings (both standard and upgraded) have lounges with a TV, refrigerator, sink, seating, etc., for your use.

Because the rooms are tiny and have only one twin bed, they are not suitable for sharing.  However, if you know other people who are attending ResoSummit, and would like to designate the person whose room will be adjacent to (and share a bath with) your room, we are happy to make those arrangements with S-B if we have advance notice.

2007 Participant Comments About On-Site Housing

Here are some of the comments 2007 ResoSummit participants made about on-site lodging in our evaluation survey:

"The modest lodging is perfectly okay with me.   We only sleep there.  I love just walking to classes, and the relatively low cost of the room."

"The room was a little stuffy, sharing a bathroom was a little inconvenient.  I choose to save some money, so I guess I can't complain."

"Clean, safe, convenient.  I would stay there again."

"Not luxurious, but definitely adequate and convenient."

"We aren't coming to experience a resort.  S-B was terrific, and I liked my monk's cell."

"Hate sharing bathrooms - but the convenience was worth it."

"The lodging was plain, but adequate for what we needed."

"Rooms fine if tiny."

Hotel Info

We've posted information about our group rate at the nearby Courtyard by Marriott on the ResoSummit 2008 page. If you are looking for other nearby hotels, "Vanderbilt", "Music Row" and "West End" are helpful geographic descriptives to help you find something close by. You'll find other logistical info on that page, as well.
